If you care about it, so be it, but if you want to look different, stop whining about how hard it is. If it wasn't hard, everyone would look the same anyway, since then everyone would get a FoW armor.

Yeah, play the game, do all the missions and quest and maybe at the end of the week you'll make 5k if you're lucky.

Seriously, once you beated the game more than once, then you pretty much bored of all the missions and quest, so most people will try to do something else like saving money for stuff like FoW, 15k armor and unique weapons.

You can say go trade, but it takes hours when you finaly find someone who wants to buy something from you. It took me some time to sell my Stinger for 10k. Mostly because most who are players in the game don't even have 10k. hell I bet most don't even have 5k.

You can go to UW or FoW, but after a while you get truly bored of it, and still I've been to UW a lot of times and the drops aren't much worth either besides some crappy dark remains, weapons that aren't even max damage and if you're lucky you might get a ecto.

So there is no real way in the game to get rich without being behind the keyboard the whole day.

Maybe someone should tell Anet that some people still need to go to school and work.

you can look good in your stylish armor while my teams name with FLAWLESS VICTORY is right below it. it doesn't make you a better player. most people that have FoW armor played the exact same build for months on ends and nothing else. not being able to adapt is not something or someone i want on my team.

not exactly true. even with the current econemy i can make 100+ in a few hours.

think outside the box of the normal money makers. the more people that use the same method create competition for you. competition reduces prices and you make less. use a method most are not and you make more.

Those methods get harder to find each day though, every once in a while I come up with one, just to find out I'm not the only one. It's hard to be the only one with the method, when millions (millions right..?) of other people play the game.

I seem to have missed the part where I was whining, or the part where I don't have any skill. To me it's rewarding to get the piece of armor I've been saving for, and I hate the way fissure armor looks. I wouldn't buy it if I was an ebayer.

Now next time I post, I'd appreciate it if you kept your crap behind your throat, instead of aimed at me on a message board.

How is FoW armor an endgame goal?

Sweet, you finally earned that expensive, wicked-looking armor by farming for hours on end.

Now what?

I'd rather do something replayable.

obviously you missed the point of that so nvm. not going to fight with someone childish on a forum.

i know exactly what you mean Maxiemonster. i used to sell the 15% (enchanted) swords for about 1-1.5k each because of the ammount of w/mo in the game. about 2 weeks later about i saw them everywhere people selling them and killed my prices.

be creative and enjoy it while it last.

Hrmm.... interesting viewpoints. I guess I feel that part of the game is not having things and what keeps me playing is what I have to look forward to. I know the latest MMO's have made strides to be more fullfilling in the early part of the game but the problem, IMO, is that people will just grab everything at once.

To me if I got end game armor right away...yes I would be bored.

I dunno just playing through, my coffers are full and I have more gold than I know what to do with. That's not to say I have alot...it's just that I'm not trying to buy anything I can't earn myself. I really wish there was more to the game than that, but before I get bored I wannna dovetail into chapter 2.

So I would say, just enjoy the game and don't worry about gold.... Hell you can be a level 10 (or less) and have pimpin items if ya want but good games are meant to be savord, not rushed.....but that's just my 2cents

Hmm.. I still want fow armor for my warrior. In the meantime though, I have gotten my mesmer and my monk the clothing I like the looks of, Not all of it is 15k either, just whatever I thought looked best and the weapons to go with it. My warrior still has not got the full set of weapons I want, but damn close to it and with her, I'd prefer to find them myself.

As for making money.. damn.. farming is boring for me, I'd much prefer to play the actual game. Consequently, her wearing fow armor might never happen. So yeah, farming did help a lot in clothing and equipping 2 out of 3 chars, but I'm buggered if I know how to get 120 ecto without buying it.

Default Nerfing farming is leading to more scammers

Has anyone noticed that there are more and more scammers in the game since the latest bout of nerfing.

I still farm griffons, uw and other areas and am not poor, but the making of farming more difficult has led to an increase in people attempting to make money out of scamming other players.

And if I see Red Apple, Yellow Apple or any other colour apple selling perfect items 24/7 I am going to go mad. It is easy for Anet to do something about scammers and obvious farming bot agents.....they just do not seem to react fast enough.

Ebay and scamming are being boosted by Anet's current actions, which is ruining an otherwise brilliant game.

When i lost it all.. (0 gold to my name) i stuck to farming... GF and SF are where i usually go.. w/ my Ele/Me... Fire/Dom.. w/ 7 hench... i still get the job done and i try for greens when i can and last night i got a sup rune of prot.. sold at trader for 7.5k.. not bad for a few runs.. there's no way to get rich quick w/ out a little effort.. i still hope i might stumble upon some more rare items.. but if i don't.. that's alright.. half of the fun is the journey

I just wish Anet would put in that auction house, or put in some otherway of actually making a profit by selling items form chests etc. without having to stand around for ages, advertising and dealing with 'traders' (very few of them interested in buying anything for more than 25% of the price they expect to get by selling it off again). I end up selling any good items not near perfect to the merchants and giving the best stuff away to guildies.

I hate trading. I guess I should just give up on that 15K armour or go solo farming for hours and hours and hours...

This is just so much bullshit. You're not going to be poor in this game. The people complaining about "being poor" are either blowing shitloads of cash on beer & chest keys, or trying to buy perfect gold weapons (which aren't any better than collectors or greens costing 1/20th as much).

You don't have to farm.

If you WANT to farm, you still can. Anyone who says farming is nerfed is ALSO full of bullshit. Even the classic farming spots like Gates of Kryta and the griffins outside Augury Rock still yield tons of gold & items.

But when these guys talk of farming, they mean "solo-farming the UW with a 55-monk" nothing else. And that's nerfed; now you'll either progress much more slowly or you'll need to be TWO farming.

The problem with farming now is that everyone already got nearly perfect gear & atleast 100K, so it's impossible to sell anything but gold perfect max items of prestige stuff. A purple max defender shield with 12 strength requirement? Hardly worth carrying home, because noone will buy it. THAT'S why farming isn't as profitable as it used to be.

i find quite a lot of decent golds and greens, but i just can't be arsed spamming them for 2 hours in LA.

Best would be something like a Auction House/Marketplace where you can just put ur items up for sale for a fixed price. Would def. make me a few 100k's more.

I have a lot of skill points I would like to use for buying skills and I would like to buy 15K armour some day. I have never bought any dwarven ale. And I have bought some keys (which did make me a lot poorer, which is strange, when did treasure hunting become a gold sink?). And sometimes I spent gold inviting guests and new members for the guild I am in, or paying our way ito the UW. And I have farmed a bit (solo) in the usual places. I haven't bought any items in months. Still, I have about 15K. And I am sure that even if I had been more stingy, I would not have had 100K. You ARE going to be poor in this game.

Earning gold is a grind now. So, if I want to avoid the grind, I should stop wanting 15K armour and using my skill-points. I do find nice items from time to time. But trading is a grind too (and you are dealing with unpleasant people who only care about gold, outsmarting you and scamming, a lot of the time). An auction house would solve my gold problems, I think.
